Consuming more vegetables and fruits in a day has been known as a great way to prevent many forms of ailments and diseases as well as to help keep your body weight down. But some people find it difficult to eat a large enough amount of fruits and vegetables in a day. The solution is to make great fruit and vegetable juices, which are easy to consume, make and keep throughout the day. Here are just some of the quick and easy juices from my book that you can quickly put together in under 5 minutes each.
Roselle-Orange Chiller
Ingredients
· 1 1/2 cups orange juice · 1/2 cup roselle cordial (available in most super markets)
Method
· pour the orange juice into an ice cube tray and freeze until solid (at least two hours). · meanwhile, chill roselle juice in the refrigerator. · pour the roselle juice into a clear jug then add orange ice cubes. · you may need to add some water if it is too sweet.
Apple, Orange, Carrot & Tomato Juice
Ingredients
· Half an apple · 1 small carrot · Half a peeled orange · 1 small tomato · juice of 1 lemon · mint leaves
Method
· mix all the ingredients in the juicer · serve chilled
Pine-Orange Yogurt Smoothie
Ingredients
· 12 ounces orange juice · Half pineapple cut · 1 1/4 cups low fat yogurt
Method
· combine all ingredients in blender · serve immediately
Tofu-Strawberry-Banana Smoothie
Ingredients
· 3/4 cup silken tofu · 1 cup fresh strawberries · 1 fresh banana, cut into pieces · 1/2 cup soy milk · 2 tbsp peanut butter (optional, for more flavor and protein)
Method
· place all ingredients in blender · blend until mixture is smooth · serve chilled
